Monday.

I loathe about.com.

I wish I'd majored in classics.

I wish I'd majored in English and paid more attention.

"Some" is a really weird word.

I am meeting Anne at Yoga Hour for $4.

It will be an adventure because I don't know if Yoga Oasis takes debit.

Also, I don't have a mat.

What are you reading right now?

I, too used a mat tonight. A friend suggested I go with her to Pure Fitness. Her motivation was one of two things: she will get a kickback if I sign up, or she thinks I look too chubby. I think it was both.
We did an hour of step aerobics. I kept up with it except for a couple of minutes in the middle. I was looking around thinking, "these people don't look fit. I look better than some of them." Alas, I was the most unfit in the room. Reality check. I'll probably keep going. 38% body fat is not a pretty figure.

Step aerobics sounds fun. [And it's] Good for you. I am reading: Instance of the Fingerpost, by Iain Pears (which belongs to your dad); The World According to Garp; and The Blood of Others (Simone de Beauvoir). What're you reading?

I thought you meant it belongs to Grandpa Russ, at first. I'm reading 1776 currently.

I thought you did major in English..... "Instance at the Fingerpost" is #7 on my to-read list. Let me know what you think.

Make that "Instance OF the fingerpost" is #7... perhaps in another dimension there is an "at the fingerpost". I still haven't started the hardboiled-mind book, but I will bump it up to #2.

I did major in English. I just wish I'd paid more attention. Also, I'd like to be conversant in French. And then go someplace and use it. Last night, armed with $4 in cash from Neil, I did my second Yoga Hour. An hour isn't enough for yoga, and also I wish my back was more stretchy. The Fingerpost is good, especially for one with a science background such as yourself, Heather! Brian, what are you reading? I'd like to try carrying cash as a way of spending less, but I haven't implemented that plan yet.

Ohmigosh.... I am so NOT meaning to be rude or anything but who could have predicted Adam Groza to become a doctoral student of religion?????????????? I am still picturing him with a mullet and heavy metal t-shirts in the 6th grade... I am happy for him, he seems like a VERY proud father. It is nice to know and gives me hope that some of my more questionable students MIGHT turn out okay in the end! Emily-how do you have time to look up people????

Heather, you are remembering his stoner stage. But he was always good at recreating himself. Don't forget the skater stage in junior high, or any of the multitudinous stages in HS: thespian, James Sparman/Beatles, Republican, preppy.

And my problem is I have too much time to look things up on the computer. Or rather, procrastinate other stuff I should be doing because it's so easy to waste time on the computer.

diana,
...so not related to your post, but did you ever get the pink invite? that is just freakish. same thing happened with a handful of our wedding announcements.

Neil and Diana said...

Sar,
Yes! I realized after we got home that the reason I couldn't find it around the house was that it was in my purse. ... (oops!) Anyway, the invite was prompt and stylish and the shower was a lot of fun.

I always have a Matt.

I'm a bit late to this post, but:

Emily: I wouldn’t call James Sparman a "stage". He might take offense to that, and since he's a cop, you might find a random ticket on your windshield.

Heather: In the words of Morrissey, "There are some bad people on the rise."

Diana: Your haircut looks great.

I hope you're all doing very well!

This exchange brought a big ol' smile to my face.

Hey Brent.

Hey Adam.

Thanks, Adam! Your daughter is beautiful. You appear to be doing quite well, which does not surprise me in the least. Hi Brent. I remember when you wore a blue hat.
