If Cheney resigns, is Hastert next in line, or is someone else, or does the GWB get to pick who he wants? The answer may be available on wikipedia.com.

GWB gets to pick his own... just like Nixon picked Ford when Agnew went down. George could really change the subject if he picked Condi. Can't remember if it needs senate confirmation. Think so.
I read that everybody who wants to run on the GOP ticket is attempting to dissociate themselves from the president at this point, so by that logic Condi would be a likely pick, since she is so close to the pres and probably doesn't want to run in '08 anyway. Sidenote: Neil just said he thinks Condi might be pro-choice. Anyway, the other side is that if GWB does pick a potential contender, the VP position would give that person status, visibility, and experience ... potentially useful ... so who wants to run, could possibly win, and supports the president?
What we do know is that Condi and George have been canoodling for quite some time. By the way, it's snowing in Cambridge!!!
Do you really think Cheney will resign? That's new to me.
