I did complete the gender arts/science test and obtained a result of "moderate association of female with science and male with liberal arts". I feel that usually I am neutral and while I will absolutely defend the fact that women are equally ABLE to be associated with science, I would never say men are less able. I am wondering several things about the test 1:Why do they ask you questions regarding your gender and personal associations BEFORE revealing your score on the sorting task? Is the sorting task simply a distractor to get you to realize some unconscious perceptions? 2: Isn't the data from the sorting task (if truly used at all) invalid if the order of initial categorizing is reversed and then the data shows that your speed of connecting still slows down the second resorting regardless of any unconscious perceptions, due to having to recongfigure your placement pattern? I don't know... I definitely agree there are strong societal stereotypes regarding women in science because I experience it frequently and hopefully it won't exist in 50 years, but I do not feel it is an either/or situation that if you strongly feel women are associated with science then men must be associated with liberal arts. That seems like flawed design to me.

Maybe it's true that I don't know what I know, but I think I know that my test results were WRONG.
They said that I moderately prefer Martha Stewart to Oprah.
I say, I don't really like Martha Stewart much at all, while I like Oprah, but just kinda.
What else don't I know about what I know?
Do the gender/art-science one. My results were chilling.
Chilling?
OK, chilling.
I prefer neither fat people, nor skinny people. Good to know.

I agree, Heather. There are too many factors that are nor controlled. Fallacy in logic, this test.
