Today's assignment: Write a comparative essay on the loneliness of Rikki Tikki Tavi and Tony Takitani.

At least Rikki Tikki Tavi had a family.

Poor Tony Takitani.

did you watch that crappy movie too?

Emily said...

It really spoke to me of the human condition.

(I must confess that this comment and comment #1 were plagiarized from Stevo. I thought they were that good.)

The movie wasn't bad, Neil. It was arte.

Your couch is green. Did you get a new couch?

The navy blue one (hijacked from my parents) has a sunshine-colored blanket on it. And light blue pillows, like the sky, with a partially-faded white flower pattern. Like clouds. Secondly, I think Steve is saying he wants to send you to Kierland with his credit card so he, too, can experience the human condition becoming mired in debt. (Although perhaps that is specifically an American condition.) Thirdly, the practice of a character issuing the last line of each narrative sequence was a little much, no. Fourthly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Mired in debt? Deal!

I liked the narrative ploy.

Um, Family Circle. Neil, do YOU think I got you Family Circle? Did you receive Family Circle in the mail? What do you take me for? I got you Field and Stream.

I would love to comment on something here, but I'm not clear on the subject.

By the way, Neil and Diana, I sent my sister Mary wedding photos and she wrote, "Neil is a HUNK-I didn't even recognize him, and his bride is so pretty. What a striking couple they make!"

Neil is a hunk. I marvel at my luck on a daily basis.
